FAQs about Applying Online

What happens if I forget my password?

If you have forgotten your password, click on the "I have forgotten my password" link on the Careers Sign In page. Enter your User ID and answer the security question. (The security question was set up by you when you created your profile.) Your password will be e-mailed to you. Please note that our Human Resources staff will not be able to provide you with your password.

All applicants are required to set-up an on-line profile prior to submitting an application and/or resume to an open position. The on-line profile is secured by a username and password that you set up. Your profile is stored once it is created, which will shorten the application process for you, if you decide to later apply for other positions within Pepsi Bottling Ventures.

How do I enter my salary into the online application?

If you have been paid hourly, please use format xx.xx; if you have an annual salary, please use format xxxxx.xx.

How long will my application remain on file?

Once created, your on-line profile remains in our database. You may update your profile or apply for additional jobs at any time by logging in under "View My Account". You must apply directly to positions posted each time you have interest and meet the posted educational, certification, experience requirements.

Should I complete a new application for each additional job if I want to apply?

There is no need to complete an additional profile, as our system allows you to update your profile. However, you must apply directly to positions posted each time you have interest and meet the posted educational, certification, and experience requirements.

How soon will I be notified as to whether or not I am being considered for a job?

Our applicant tracking system is automated; you will receive an e-mail each time your application is moved in the consideration process by the employment staff or the hiring manager. If you do not have easy routine access to e-mail, you may log on to "View My Account" and view your status of consideration on line. The information posted is the most real-time. If you are selected as a top candidate, you will generally be contacted by telephone or e-mail to schedule a time to discuss your qualifications in detail. The response time varies significantly depending on the number of applications to be considered.

Who should I contact regarding the status of my application?

Due to the volume of applications we receive, we do not accept inquiries regarding the status of your application. Once you apply for a position, you will receive an e-mail response to confirm that we have received your profile or resume. During each stage of the position consideration process, you will also be sent an e-mail. If you do not have routine access to e-mail you may wish to use the convenience of the "View My Account" features. This feature provides a status available only to you of your consideration status. If it is determined that you are a top candidate, a representative from Pepsi Bottling Ventures will contact you by phone or e-mail to discuss your skills in detail or to schedule you for an interview.

What happens if a job becomes available that I have not applied for but am qualified?

As new positions become available, you must apply directly to positions posted each time you have interest and meet the posted educational, certification, experience requirements.

Is an e-mail address required to apply for positions?

Yes. An e-mail address is required in order to use our online applicant system. If you do not have an e-mail address, there are several resources available that offer free e-mail accounts. A few of the free e-mail sites include: www.yahoo.com, www.hotmail.com, and www.gmail.com. Please note that Pepsi Bottling Ventures has no association with your chosen e-mail provider.

Do I need a resume to apply for positions?

Resumes are not required for our on-line applicant system; however, resumes are welcomed and accepted for all positions. A resume builder is available during our application process. (Applicants for salaried positions can select the resume builder function, if a resume is not available for copy or upload.)

What is a "job cart"?

When you search for jobs, it's similar to shopping on-line. If you see a job you're interested in, you are able to save that job by clicking on "Add to job cart." Then, you may click on "View job cart" to display all of the jobs you've selected. You will have the option to remove any jobs from the cart by clicking the delete button. You can apply for all the jobs in your cart by selecting the box to the left of the job title and clicking the "Apply" button. Please ensure the positions you place in your job cart are those for which you meet the posted experience, education or required credentials. Only applicants who meet the posted criteria will be considered.

When applying for multiple jobs at one time, you may be required to complete the same questions multiple times.

How long do I have to complete my profile?

The on-line application system will automatically log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity. This is not a limit as to how long you have to complete your profile/on-line application. If you begin completing your profile but enter no information or perform no action for 20 minutes, you will automatically be logged out of the system.

I performed a job search on all jobs. How are the results returned?

When you search through our employment opportunities, jobs can searched and returned to you a variety of ways. Your search can return results based on position name, location, position type, functional area, and date posted.

From the Job Search page, be sure to scroll down and click the Search button.
